I'm Jason Gilbert, Founder and Managing Partner of Fox Energy. I started this firm to give accredited investors direct access to high-quality, tangible American energy assets. After more than 25 years in private equity, I've learned that preserving capital isn't just a strategy, it's a responsibility. And I take that seriously.
My career hasn't been built in a boardroom. It's been built by staying close to the work, owning the decisions, and learning what matters most when your own money is on the line. Every investment has taught me something. Over time, that experience has shaped the judgment I rely on today.
I focus on energy projects in established, data-rich basins. Places with a production history we can study, trust, and build on. I don't chase hype or speculative plays. I look for signals grounded in real-world performance. A good example of this is the Lippelmann Prospect, a Kansas oil lease I personally led that has produced more than 500,000 barrels of oil in the past five years. That success came from discipline, not luck.
"If it doesn't make sense with my own capital, it doesn't move forward."
At Fox Energy, I lead our investment strategy, underwriting process, and operator relationships. I have one rule that guides everything: if it doesn't make sense with my own capital, it doesn't move forward. That mindset drives how we structure every opportunity. No blind pools, no hidden fees, no unnecessary layers. Just transparent, direct access to projects we stand behind.
Outside of Fox Energy, I also serve as Chief Investment Officer for Doheny Road Spirits. Working across both the industrial and consumer sectors has given me a broader view of value creation and the importance of long-term thinking.
At the end of the day, I see every investor as a partner. That's how I lead, how I invest, and how I measure success.
